How to Pass the CFA and CBV?

How to Pass the CBV

1.     Read course notes (don’t bother reading the actual book);

2.     Make sure you sign up for secure exam (don’t hand write the exam, you will be at a huge disadvantage);

3.     Don’t be afraid of the past exams. Complete the most recent 5;

4.     Once you are through the courses. Sign up for the MqE prep course. I found it incredibly helpful. They teach you how to write the final exam correctly; and,

5.     If you can’t afford it, here is the process. Memorize how to write a report from date to conclusion. Have at least 3 – 4 points for each section. Remember to use copy and paste!!! Can’t stress this enough. If you decide to paper write your exam you can’t do this. I found on the MqE I copy and pasted lots and it saved so much time!

How to Pass the CFA exams

1.     If you find the CFA text hard to follow, purchase the Schweser books (I did);

2.     I teach CFA prep classes and this is what I tell them every time: do not do the end of chapter questions from Schweser – waste of time. Read the book, but complete the end of chapter questions in the CFA textbooks. Remember the CFA institute write the exam…;

3.     Obtain all past practice exams you can get your hands on. I use to finish my studying almost 3 months before the exams and just start doing practice exams;

4.     Always feel like you have a bear chasing you and don’t get over confident. The Boston mock is the easiest exam. I use to score in the high 90s on each exam;

5.     Take at least 1 week off before the exam and study ;

6.     Make sure you go over ethics on the last day or two before exam – that stuff will pass or fail you; and,

7.     Take the night off before the exam and relax.

  1. Ah! Thanks a ton for this help! My exam is this year and I am very nervous about it. But I feel I have found the best courses online for its preparation that I will be able to score really well in the exam. They even offer the Best LSAT Courses, if anybody wants to know about it.
