Do you really want to be an Investment Banker?

1.     Do you like not having any family time?

2.     Do you like not going home before 9pm … ever?

3.     Do you enjoy being at work your whole life?

4.     If there is no bonus…. You are paid less than minimum wage. Is that what you want?

5.     Do you enjoy being just a number and being pushed all day every day?

Then clearly go for investment banking.

I worked in investment banking for a bank for almost a year. Everyone may have a different story, but here is what I found:

1.     Working all nighter at least once a week was just too much;

2.     Never got home before 9pm;

3.     I never saw my family;

4.     I never saw friends as I had to constantly cancel my plans;

5.     Was not allowed to take more than 1 week off for a holiday; and,

6.     Got sick of the running around.
